A farmer examines her dying crop

The Story

The Story

The farmer is a woman called CLEMENTINE BATAMURIZA from Kabgayi district. She is married and a mother to three children. She is a farmer and although she only has a small piece of land, she lives entirely on the fruits of her farm. Unfortunately, the area she lives in has a long dry season, lasting half the year, making it difficult to grow crops and affecting livestock. CLEMENTINE took part in a SCIAF project through local partner CDJP Kabgayi which taught her how to use her land effectively, earn a living and grow nutritious sustainable crops that are resistant to climate change.
