Combating Climate Change in Namibia

The Story

The Story

Namibia is a semi-arid country in sub-Saharan Africa. Due to its climatic conditions, the country is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. The country has been hard hit by droughts and floods.

16-year-old Samantha, a passionate youth advocate, has interviewed key people, from Ministers to UN country representatives, and visited projects to educate young people on what can be done. This resulted in a 30-minutes long documentary shared with schools and various stakeholders.

This photo is therefore a celebration of the work done by one young person to make a difference. This specific photo was taken during Samantha’s interview of the United Nations Development Programme resident representative to Namibia, Mrs Alka Bhatia.
