Glory – the vegetable grower

The Story

The Story

Glory grows vegetables for the local market, thanks to solar powered irrigation delivered through a Futurepump supplied by Malawi Fruits. By staggering her planting, and using the irrigation pump,  Glory is able to get an income every month of the year from selling the greens in her local market. Before she got the pump in 2019, Glory could only grow vegetables during the rainy season, and the yields were poor when the rains were erratic. The pump mitigates the effects of climate change and is used to give consistent watering during the rains and as the sole means of irrigation in the dry season.
