Light for the water

The Story

The Story

Climate Challenge Programme Malawi (CCPM) participant Nakuleya Psani stands next to a solar powered water kiosk. One of a range new and exciting responses to climate change that his community has embraced.  The water tower is the most visible part of a system that supplies this community in Machinga with plentiful clean water.

Nakuleya is part of the committee that maintains and controls the water kiosk. It’s one of a number of interventions designed by the community in conjunction with local partners. The CCPM is committed to Improving access to water as that greatly improves resistance to the impact of climate change. The CCPM is a Scottish Government initiative helping rural communities in Malawi find innovative solutions to problems caused by climate change.
