The Alliance photo and film competition runs every year and in 2021 the theme was climate impacts on people at the sharp end of the global climate crisis.
The photo and film competition was an opportunity for international development practitioners, photographers and videographers to showcase sustainable development projects across the world. The Alliance particularly welcomed entries from its members and their partners, but the competition was open to anyone with a link to Scotland.
An appointed panel selected winning entries based on how well they reflected the theme, their photographic/video quality (focus, composition, creativity, delivery) and whether they complied with ethical guidelines – showing human subjects in a positive light, speak to gender sensitivity and be consensual.
For more information on ethical guidelines see this ethical imagery resource list.
